The 1949 AIS Checklist does not provide any pedigree information on BLACK
FOREST, but in his 1954 book, "Half Century of Iris", William McKee lists
the pedigree for BF as DYMIA X ETHIOP QUEEN. If correct, such ancestry does
not seem to provide much opportunity for aphylla influence. Are you aware
of a different ancestry for BF that does indicate aphylla in its
background? I would be interested to learn if such is the case.
