OT: Spring song - long - find the delete key

List:

I LOVE this time of year. Everything is waking up and turning into all the
shades of my favorite color - green. The unguicularis did its thing, the
muscari was there to lurk around instead. Now it and the Fritillaria
persica are fading, but the iberis is bright white with the TB COMPOST
CONTRIBUTOR (Bee, H) in tall bud stalks right beside it. The perennial
salvia and the gray green achillea are in perfectly mounded clumps. The
Asiatic and oriental lilies are putting out in profusion (and I didn't
think they would live here). The pansies are still hanging on along with
some tiny late blooming daffodils. The blackfoot daisies have their first
blooms. The iris pallida doesn't have to bloom. At this stage of growth
the leaves serve just as well, esp. when the sun shines thru the leaves.
The astilbe and Heuchera are already uncurling bloom stalks while the Lady
Fern is starting to uncurl her fronds. The polyantha, all trimmed up, is
growing a new set of thorns and the miniature roses Anner graciously sent
are covered in buds. The daylilies have aphids, but I've seen all the
ladybugs and just have to wait for their hatch and that problem should go
away. All the oaks from acorns (6" to 10' now) are budding out and the big
ones are tinged with green, except the Live Oaks, which are in their ugly
stage. The sprekelia and amaryllis survived another winter, as did some
not winter hardy lantana. The platycodon has almost reached the grow thru
stakes and I think I see bulges in a lot of the irises. I haven't heard
any singing yet, but last weekend I tho't I heard some lady practicing
scales - if it wasn't a trick of the wind. This is the perfect weather to
work on a farm and I only ever do what has to be done, the rest is spent
smelling the roses, so to speak. I've given up on being focused enough to
do useful tasks and refuse to feel guilty (at least not very).

jealous of the lists some folks have posted).
