CULT:snapping vs cutting

From: Gordon & Loraine Nicholson <iris4u@pacbell.net>

Must agree with Jan about the best way and sometimes easiest and fastest
if you have hundreds to do each day, I am a "cutter", can't seem to
learn "snapping" (I have perfected "snapping" at Gordon). I have very
sharp scissors, bending to cut allows me to check inside plant at same
time, the time also allows me to talk to people in garden about iris. We
generally stack the stalks till we can dispose of them. I tried the
snapping and just couldn't bear to see all those new plants that were
breaking off at the same time, my technique needs improving. Bill
Maryott gave me lessons, told him his "Bill Maryott walk" and long legs
that can jump a 40" tall varieties were his gift from God. Wonder how
his garden is doing? Bill or Marilyn are you lurking?? Lorrain At
Woodland Iris Gardens in California, frost again this morning.
