Don't know the answer to your other questions, but many onco species of
arils have just one bloom per stalk. And they are quite large.
My CELESTE AZULE has not bloomed for me yet, so I can't say if it's normal
for this particular cultivar, but at the same time, I'm not surprised about
yours.
