If a JI is alive for $4.99 and your trying to learn how to grow them, go
for it. That's what I did and am not sorry. They don't have names and can't
find anyone who can ID them for me but they bloom and I am now giving those
plants away to others who are trying to learn so as to make room for the ones
I have spent more money for and have names. The garden space I have is just
too small to keep them all. As you plant the JI's remember they don't tolerate
lime, like rich soil with plenty of moisture to become established and at
least until bloom is well established in the spring/summer. Have fun and learn
about a gorgeous part of the iris world.
