I want to go hunting irises in the wild. Particularly in southern Ohio,
northern Kentucky, and possibly on into West Virginia. Is there any time
of day or even type of day (cloudy, sunny, etc.) to do this?
I'm not going to be collecting them, just photographing them. And I'm not
exactly sure when to do it, though it certainly will start in the next few
weeks.
Does anyone know the bloom time for Iris verna and Iris cristata for that
general geographical area?
I'd also love to find some Iris fulva and Iris brevicaulis which supposedly
can be found in Ohio, but I haven't the faintest idea where to look. I
will contact the local wildflower conservancy, but thought I'd ask you
folks first. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dennis (in Cincinnati)
