Howdy All,
As I've been gone for a while I thought it worthwhile sending another OT BIO.
My name is Paul Tyerman. I live in Canberra, Australia. I am somewhat
interested in irises and have a reasonable collection of TB, Arilbred, SA,
MED, Dwarf, Louisianna, JAP, Spuria and Species Iris.
I run a garden maintenance and plant sales business and have my irises
spread over 5 properties (I rent back yards for my plants as I do not have
space at home). I dabble a VERY small amount in breeding, but really just
plain don't have the time anymore. Sigh!
Canberra is fairly cold by Asutralian Standards but pretty pathetic by
most Northern Hemisphere Standards. We get down to -8'C most years which
is pretty much on the cold side for Australia (For reference in case you
don't know Australia does not even have permanent Snow (although patches
survive Summer in the Winter..... it could hardly be called permanent Snow).
Summer temps to around 40'C and quite hot and dry. Winters are cold and
wet. Minimum day-time temperature extreme is around 6'C.
Ummmmm.... what else to say? Married for 3 years, no kids (unless you
count our two dogs... if you can call them that... I think "Kids" suits
them better actually). Could really do with some more money (couldn't just
about everyone)as I spend far to much on plants. Who needs to eat when you
can buy plants?????
Thats about it. Many of you will already know me so to you all Howdy!!!!
It will be good to be back. I think you guys are just starting into Spring
over there in the US aren't you? The I. reticulatas flowering yet?
Cheers everyone.
Regards. Paul Tyerman
Canberra, Australia
