Hi all,
Yesterday was turning out rather badly from the start. Hubby's car had a
heart attack first thing, and It looked like I would have to spend most of
an already planned out day, trying to get someone to put a new battery in.
Several phone calls, and two hours wait saw the RACV van show up, and I was
on the road to the car repair people, expecting to abandon said vehicle for
the rest of the day, and taxi home.
No worries, they said to my amazement, have it done in 1/2 hour.
well 1/2 an hour had to be filled in somehow, so I trotted off to the local
shops to buy a garden magazine. On my way, I thought I would just go via the
local park and see what condition their irises were in. They have a large
bed of something very old, with a small, dog eared, dark purple flower.
Rather sweet, and always flowers very, very early.
Only a true iris nut could take an interest in seeing a bed full of fans!
Well - I was amazed to see heaps of bloom - about a dozen stalks actually in
flower. They put a smile on my face, I haven't seen an iris blossom for so
long. I might just go for a drive again today..............
Cheers, Jan
