AIS: Region 4 meeting

I'd like to add to Griff Crump's comments on the Region 4 meeting this past
weekend. It was an ideal meeting with everything going off like clockwork,
and plenty of beautiful gardens to visit, as well as great conversation
over dinner and on the bus.

The gardens we saw were really excellent, but I want to single out the
garden of Bill and JaNiece Mull. Here we saw a lovely array of TBs, with
some few Siberians and Louisianas also in evidence. The Mulls have a good
collection of Louisianas and Japanese iris, too, which left most of us
wanting to come back later.

Bill and JaNiece, Bill Smoot, Frances and Tony Thrash, and young Matt
Pearson deserve a great deal of the credit as well as others behind the
scenes. If these folks get involved in the Virginia national meeting in a
few years, I can guarantee you it will be wonderful.
