OT:PLANTS: Neomarica

Neomarica caerulea bloomed today--WOW! The bloomstalk is stiffly erect,
not drooping as in gracilis, and the flower is 50% larger, with a striking
lavender-blue shade, the standards marked with darker blue. These robust
plants are 3 times the size of N. gracilis; the bloomstalk is more than 4
ft. tall. But the plant seems quite comfortable in an 8" pot.

The last bloom of N. gracilis also opened today, so I'm going to attempt a
cross. If it doesn't take with the fresh pollen, I've got some stored I
might try.
