Hi Chad,
Yes, line breeding can be dangerous however if new genetic material is
introduced to the breeding program on a regular basis you will probably be
safe.  ie:  sib x sib followed by (sib x sib) x (new x sib) Obviously you
will have to keep good notes and have your hybridizing program planned out
for at least ten years.  But good things can happen!  BTW it's also good to
have several contingency plans!  :-)  Even after all this you will not be
able to "predict" what exactly will happen.
