I am removing stalks in order to hopefully help increase, and
to hopefully prevent rot in the stalks from setting into
the rhizome (a few of the stalks have rotted as opposed to
dried). When one does this, how low should one go???? There's
is the point at which the stalk "disappears" into the fan, there's
pulling aside all leaves and trying for ground level, and then
trying to cut all the way down to the rhizome...
