Re: CULT: Iris in pots - PCN

Dear Tom,
I an trying the PC's in the woods. That is where they wanted me test them. They sent 2 starts of two different PC. I have the same weather that you have in Little Rock. I am close to the Lake of the Ozarks. I am getting seeds in this fall from Ghio. Where should I plant them indoors or outdoors?

    Jim and Iris Talkers:

Growing California irises in pots in Missouri sounds like a good start.
You can move them around, and perhaps, better manage them.

However, I also suggest you grow some in the ground. This year I bloomed
PCNs in my garden...for the second year in a row. They are seedlings, I
must quickly admit, and they grow more vigorously than hybrids in our humid
summers. Nevertheless, I think I've gotten up the courage to order a few
hybrids and see how they do here. Regardless, my seedlings were
wonderful...and I have slides to prove to the many local skeptics who think
    them impossible.
