Pacific Coast/Californian Irises

I have two Pacific Coast hybrids, 'Broadleigh Lavinia' 
and 'Broadleigh Nancy'. Absolutely gorgeous!  These were planted out 
as small plants two years ago and have now formed substantial clumps, 
just about to come into flower.  What's the best advice on 
propagating these by division?  I'm not sure which zone I'm in 
according to the US system, but temperature range across the year is 
usually -5 to 25C, first frosts in October, last frosts April.
