Re: Pacific Coast/Californian Irises

Daniel,

You can propagate the Pacific Coast Native Iris by division while they
are actively growing their white roots. Good times to do so are in the
Spring and late Fall. In the Spring, you may wish to propagate after
they have bloomed, and before a dry summer slows root growth. Well
watered plants may also be propagated when the late Fall rains have
encouraged root growth and a number of weeks remain for the roots to
become adequately established before the cold Winter ground slows their
growth.
