HYB:germination surprise

This summer I stratified my TB seeds for 8 weeks in snap-lock bags with a bit of damp spagmum, then planted them out 6weeks ago, since when it has been very dry and sunny. So inagine my surprise when I noticed a small bag lying on the ground in near full sun, yesterday, and on picking it up, discovered that it was one of my seedling bags that I had dropped before planting. More than half of the seeds had germinated and some were more than 2" tall. I hope they survive the change in humidity on planting out., might cover with plastic for a few days. I am surprised that they had not used up all the CO2 etc or dried out, the seal must be good.

Gives me some interesting ideas on germination.
