I use the tops of margarine containers to identify selected lilac seedlings.

Test to be sure you can write on the unprinted side in ballpoint pen since
each brand differs a bit. Each will supply enough material for at least 6
indestructible tags. Cut in 1/2 then cut each half into thirds or fourths.
Use a leather or paper punch to add a hole at one end and add string.
