Thanks Griff. I searched the archives & my first post about discovering
borers was May 13.
In my 700 ft elevation valley, I doubt I'm higher than you are.
But I am in the "middle" of the country, east of the Rockies, west of
the Appalachians, and our zone 7 climate has a much higher variance of
temperatures than yours.
Betty (zone 6, I think), didn't you say you only occasionally see borers
and that you don't treat with pesticides for them?
<We're seeing borer damage already here. I can tell by your post
that, although we are north of you, you are at a
higher elevation, so your
bloom apparently is behind. (My SDBs are about
bloomed out; my IBs are at
peak, and I have several TBs in bloom.) -- Griff
