Re: HYB: question - genetics of haft marks

Neil has talked about some (all) types of haft markings, stripes, etc
originating from I. variegata and probably being part of the so-called
umbrata pattern, with dosage effects regulating how much markings show
up.

At least that's what I got from what you said, Neil.

My question is - how does that dosage effect or whatever it is work out
in what is seen in seedlings from a cross of a plant with <just> heavy
haft markings (like my seedling DC1, posted last year, or like RUBY
DELIGHT) with a plant with smooth hafts (like ROMANTIC EVENING, which I
crossed with DC1).

Now that bloom is winding down, finally!, I've been looking more closely
at bloom parts and am getting a greater appreciation for haft marks,
distribution, and appearance. Will post some photos of falls from HELEN
COLLINGWOOD and two of her babies (suspected parent ROMANTIC EVENING).
