HYB: pink pigments that aren't

It's been really interesting seeing how many blooms that I thought were
pink are really just dilute anthocyanin pigments.

For example, I would have described MADE OF MAGIC as a pink ground
'umbrata' with dark red purple 'shadow' on the falls. No pink (or
yellow) pigment there at all.

Now that I've looked at a few, it's obvious out in the garden which ones
actually have some pink (or <that> yellow) and which ones don't.

Thanks Chuck, for getting me started extracting pigments. And Christy
for planting the idea a few years earlier. Takes me a while to get
started on something new.

For those who don't want to carry petals into the kitchen, I've
discovered that carrying a piece of petal around in sweaty hand on a hot
day will get a lot of the anthocyanin pigments out. Just squish it
around and rinse it off with the garden hose. If what's left has <much>
yellow (or pink), pigment, it's pretty obvious. It either looks like
wet white tissue paper or wet pink or yellow tissue.
