And good for you, I say. 
 
I don't care for lace at all.....weird ciliated edge like some unwholesome  
growth...even less attractive on those hairy tulips, I think. Yet, there is  
always that novelty factor which so mesmerizes some and I suppose in  time an 
iris will show up with fringe so long it wafts  about in the breeze.
 
Now, the daylily folks have got some *really* unwholesome looking  growths 
going, gilding I believe they are denominating it, and they are  cultivating 
very random looking petaloids, too, if one can believe what one  sees in the 
recent books. I don't care for those, either. I've always liked the  simpler 
unruffled daylilies, along with the spiders and extra tall ones, of  course. Seems 
to suit better a blossom that is so fugitive.
 
Encourage her to breed her own, Betty, then you can visit  her and comment 
kindly on what all hers lack.
