This information taken from the label for Alligare (clopralid)

"Avoid spray drift since very small quantities of the spray, which may not be
visible, may injure susceptible broadleaf plants during active growth or
dormant periods."

Since iris are broadleaf plants this is a herbicide I would not use anywhere
near my iris.
