Mary, welcome to the Iris-L. Your story brings back fond memories of our
first house, 25 years ago. The woman who previously owned it was an avid
gardener, especially with herbs and wildflowers. We moved in mid-January
and that first spring was wondrous! One of the plants on that property was
Iris pseudacorus...my first introduction to beardless irises. I still have
that iris plus many more, mostly Siberian, Japanese, and other beardless.
I expect you will love your local Iris group. I feel the best way to try to
identify iris is to have someone come look at them...pictures are often
inadequate.
Where do you live?
