Re: Iris Nurseries in B.C., Canada

I go to Vancouver a number of times during the year and try to visit
three gardens each time that I pass through. These are Van Dusen
Gardens, the University of British Columbia Botanic Gardens, and those
in Queen Elizabeth Park. VD and QE are very close together right on the
route that you would take when you come up from Blaine. UBC is only
about 10 minutes away along Marine Drive. If you get to Vancouver
Island, there is Bouchart, near the ferry terminal and an iris nursery
in Duncan, whose name escapes me at the moment.

Ottawa, where we have a very cool spring. This week is the tulip
festival and there are very few tulips in flower. They will probably be
out by the end of the week if the days stay warm. Still only reticulata
and danfordiae have flowered and there are no signs of bud on any other
irises. cristata is still about half and inch high. It was selling in
the auction at the high Point workshop at about 6 inches!
