RE: CULT: Iris/Daylily bed

Hi, Patti, your cultural conditions sound amazingly like mine, but then I've
seen the eastern part of Washington, so I'm not that surprised. So you give
me to courage to admit that I, too, grow my daylilies in the same beds as the
iris, and they all seem to do just fine.

I too raise daylilies and iris in the same beds and have excellent
results with both. It may be because my rows run north and south on
sandy alkaline soil in zone 5 or it may be blind luck but they do very
well. It could be the wild mint that constantly tries to take over my
yard in one area and the bindweed in another, the plants may feel that
old united we stand, divided we fall thing!!!! We get VERY little
rainfall here too.
