OT-ART globe

At a recent flower show here, I bought a "Crystal Boutique"--basically a clear
globe with an opening at the bottom, to be filled with water and whatever
little thing you want to display, including, of course, small iris blooms.
The globe acts to magnify the object(s) inside. It really works!
I had a little I. siberica 'Nana Alba' in there for a while, and now I put
in an I. graminea. Probably the arrangers out there would do lots
better than I do with my simple single blooms, but it's a very easy toy
to operate the way I do it. They recommended putting a little vinegar
in, and hydrogen peroxide to help preserve the blooms. Has anyone
else tried this and has more tips to offer? --Jim
