Anner, this is so true!  We had a hellacious storm blow through here last
week and it flattened most of my tall irises.....however not a single one
of my old-fashioned irises fell over.  NOT A SINGLE ONE!

This fact encouraged me to work them into my hybridizing program.  What
good is a beautiful flower if it's not on a sturdy stalk!  Not only that,
but they have good branching and good fragrance.
