Anner, we grow Beotie here, too, and I believe it is from France. It is
planted in a mixed raised bed that includes peonies, dwarf yellow pine and
David Austin English roses, as well as baby's breath and lilies of various
sorts and colors. It is planted very near the ony dark evergreen in the bed
and I think I will move it as I believe it would be prettier if backlit by
the sun to show off its sheen. It did quite well here in this, its second
year. Very windy, rainy season and it did not fall over as many did. This
is commendable, because Beotie grows quite tall here. Unfortunately, it
closed its terminal blossom on the stalk my son picked right before our
show, so his Mme. Chereau (spelling?) won best Youth Historical. Last year,
he won Best Youth Historical with a gorgeous stalk of Blue Sapphire. He has
quite a few historics in his bed and has ordered some more.
