Hello,

Re the fun topic of men vs women or women vs men, whichever you

Yes, please. Whether there is any foundation in fact, the common
stereotype I've been exposed to is that women prefer ruffles and lace and
pastels. I frankly suspect this is a PR concoction as I suspect much
fashion turns out to be. Certainly the initial posts in response indicate
there is not much behind the stereotype. As one who falls in the middle
of the road (are you reading Jan?) and who thrives on diversity in form &
pattern in addition to color, I would love to see the myth further
discounted
in regards to irises. I strongly feel that fashion has little longlasting
merit
in the garden (or much else besides being a footnote in history). There
was a discussion some time ago of the effects of fashion re orange and
purple. It's in the archives somewhere. This same subject touches on
the current posts of old vs new and the territory from which judges arrive
at their decisions.

Enjoying all of it!
