Re: TB: Je T' Aime

From: "S&C Rust" <srust@fidnet.com>

For those on this list that are interested in iris with a long cut flower
life, I can certainly recommend the TB, Je T' Aime! This is the only stalk
I personally took to the iris show last Saturday (my kids own most of the
stuff!) and it was beautiful with three open blooms of alabaster white with
a soft red beard. It is still blooming for me in its show bottle, on the
desk next to the computer. It looks just as fresh as last Saturday, and
still has three more buds to go! I ordered this iris three years ago and
planted it with great expectations. It didn't bloom the first year, and I
didn't notice until its second year, that it had sunk in its spot until it
was slightly below ground level; very poor culture for a TB! So, after
bloom season of its second year was over, I moved what was left of it to my
rebloomer bed (!) so I could keep a good eye on it. I did not water and
feed it like a rebloomer; everything in my rebloomer bed is watered and fed
individually, according to how it looks on any given day. So, even though
there is not a huge clump of it like its neighbors, it is now healthy and I
sure like it.

of crosses one hour after making them. Drat!
