DESERT SPIRIT is an arilbred.  A 1/4-bred, to be precise, introduced by Lin
Flanagan in 1995.  Registered as 20" tall, but it grows taller for me. 
Comparable to some I've registered as 28". 

The registered description:   S. pale violet with light violet edge; F.
mixture of light violet and light amber with darker violet streak from tip
of brown-orange beards; slight fragrance.

That's in Ft. Worth, and I've seen photos of it that show all these
features.  In southern NM, however, our intense sun quickly fades it to a
stunning SILVER self.  I tried growing it in almost full shade one year, to
see if it would show its true colors.  It did, and is striking either way.
