I'm getting fairly good germination on I. Missouriensis that were seeded directly in the garden. 

Seed was planted in October and covered with about 1/8" soil. Mom Nature did the rest and I have tiny babies popping up now. :)

I know they'll take at least a year longer to get to blooming size than things started in the house, but it's a lot less hassle and at least some germination is taking place. The ones started in the house still haven't started coming up. The "more chilling" thing again?
