Re: OT-CHAT: foreigners, cyberspace, & vocabulary

Rachel,

Do you know the game BALDERDASH? You'd love it. For each round,
there is a word which probably no one knows. Each player writes a
definition, as plausible as possible. Then you vote on whose is
right, and the player with the most votes wins. SO FUN! Probably
the only occasion for which a masters in creative writing proves
useful.

Patricia Brooks, whose social security check reflects the value
society places on such a degree.

references. It can be fun to look through the dictionary especially
really old ones that have definitions for words that I have not heard
mentioned in my lifetime. You should look up Yankee in Harvards
unabridged dictionary. It has the old and new definitions of the word
and the disbelief that it would stand for what it stands for today It
also has the chemical makeup for colchicine and other formulas in it.
Super reading just for fun. I have read all this 3 days late so I am
sure I will also be right in there with you as I ran and got my old
monster and looked it up right away, out of curiosity as to what used
to be and replied to fast. But from what I read the usage would
probably be allowed by this relic
