Re: TB: Planting Indoors

I've never tried planting indoors, but I have planted in pots and
left in the garage (unheated) and they do just fine. If you plant
them in the ground as soon as the danger of frost is over, they
should be very happy. I had thought that iris would need some cold
for a resting period, however other people tell me that is not
necessary, so maybe yours will be OK indoors.
As for pbf, that is 'purple based foliage'. At the point where the
leaves emerge from the rhizomes, some iris show purple or reddish
color. It is not usually overpowering. However, it is a good way to
identify or validate the identity of something, as it is an inherited
characterisitc.
