While some may give their number and address in case the AIS needs
to contact them, not everyone wants their information published to everyone.

Precisely the problem....more junk mail, more telemarketing calls during
dinner,
loss of effectiveness of nonlisted telephone numbers. Plus, if someone sells
my name and address to a company, maybe I should get a cut?
