Steve Rocha is or was a member of this group, he has a wonderful website
with information on hybridizing that many of us have looked at over the

Steve did post a message about the fires on the gardenweb forum and many
people
responded including members from this list.
Naturally all of us here at iris-talk are concerned when our fellow
irisarians have
to deal with a disaster or are in harms way.
This is the latest information I have on the Rocha's.
Just to keep you up to date - Steve,Sharlyn,Beth,and Kate
are all safe and sound. They lost some of their outbuildings, etc.
Their
home and one other were the only ones to survive the fire on their block.
They
had enough time to get the horses & pets out, and to gather many of their
things before they had to evacuate. Right now they have cell phones
provided by the phone company with limited minutes, but you can send them
mail at their home 14170 Mussey Grade, Ramona, CA 92065
