This will be a little hard to do for most folks who do not have a resource...
I have 4 cases of old glass milk bottles. I use every other one in the case
when getting ready for a show. A wedge of stalk or a paper towel will usually
hold the stalk in place in the bottle. If you have an old thrift shop or
antique mall, these bottles are fairly common. However, they can cost a fair
dime as they aren't in production any longer. Then go to your local drink
distributor for the plastic cases that they use to distribute their drinks. This
should work... If I cut stalks early for refrigeration, I have used all bottles
in a case while everything is in bud, just being very careful when placing
and moving them around as not to break or damage the stalks.
My brother works for Pepsi, and it's fairly easy to get 2 liter bottles and
their cases from him....especially the ones that are out of date and scheduled
for being destroyed. I would imagine that most of the distributors would
gladly let you haul off what you'd like if you were to explain that you weren't
interested in consuming the out of date product.
