It may fall into that group of tough ones here that actually <like>
excessively drained gravelly soil & drought. Like CELEBRATION SONG.
How does SULTRY MOOD do for you? It's more prolific than SWINGTOWN and
has been thriving in clay as well as more gravelly soil. I don't have
it in the worst gravel, where SWINGTOWN is growing.

Betty, seems like there are often big differences in performance of
irises here (not just at my awful garden, but good places & caregivers
like Tom Parkhill) and Kentucky. Often wonder what the difference might
be - seems like too little difference in climate to make that much
difference. Of course, it may just be due to comparisons between years
- 2001 in Kentucky compared with 2000 in Tennessee <g>
