It may be helpful to recall that fertilization of flowering plants is a
two-fertilization process. A fully mature-looking seed may lack an embryo, or
a scrap may have embryo but lack endosperm. The two--embryo and
endosperm--are derived from separate fertilizations.
I've never heard of any "100%" geminations, and even those using embryo
culture fall short of that--since not all apparently good seeds have them.
