Paul -- Congratulations! You're one of very few persons ever to get a cross with JENNIFER REBECCA. But are you saying that you're going to wait and make a similar cross before you plant the seeds you have? If so, I'd urge you to plant the seeds now, rather than wait for another cross. My own experience with JR is that it produces very few seeds. In 1994, I got 4 pods on JR, with the following results:
JR x Summer Olympics
seeds -------------- 4
germinated --------- 2
JR x Triple Whammy
seeds --------------- 5
germinated ---------- 3
JR x sdlg 93U5
seeds --------------- 4
germinated ---------- 0
JR x Mahan sdlg 988-1
seeds ---------------- 9
germinated ----------- 1
All the seedlings were killed by the freeze/thaw cycles of the following winter. Although I have made innumerable attempts in each of the following years (including re-tries of the earlier successful crosses), I have been unable to get another cross on JR. I gave up trying to use JR pollen after literally dozens of attempts in two seasons produced no pods -- BUT:
Don Spoon has introduced RUTH WALKER ('99) and SWEET ROMANCE ('95), using JR as the pollen parent. Neither of these is a rebloomer.
Since you're down in the area where JR comes from, hopefully its seedlings will flourish for you. -- Griff

I did one cross each of
(Jennifer Rebecca X Frank Adams seedling)
(Stairway to Heaven X Select Circle) and
(Femenine Fire x Good Show) best pink seedling x Beverly Sills.
I didn't get many seeds on either pod so I am going to do them again before I plant them. I will note that Beverly Sills has never rebloomed for me here in NC or in Indiana but I know it can in other zones.

Anyway, I asked everyone to make at least ONE rebloom cross. Did you? And did they take? Anyone want to talk about it? ________________________________________________________ Betty W. in South-central KY Zone 6 --- Bridge In Time Iris Garden@website: Where the seeds are in the pots once again! _www.thegardensite.com/irises/bridgeintime/_ (http://www.thegardensite.com/irises/bridgeintime/) _Reblooming Iris - Home Page_ (http://www.rebloomingiris.com/) _iris-photos archives_ (http://www.hort.net/lists/iris-photos/) _iris-talk archives_ (http://www.hort.net/lists/iris-talk/) _AIS: American Iris Society website_ (http://www.irises.org/) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE IRIS--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE IRIS
