Laurie,
Well that pretty much blows my suggestion out of the water. I was
thinking that you could do a quick synopsis of your Iris 101 talk, max
10 minutes, then get into the iris that bloom early, mid, late season,
and rebloomers. Finally, you could finish up with a quick look at the
other iris, such as Louisiana, Japanese roof iris, Pacific Coast, etc.
Depending on how each would fair in your area, you could expand this
last part into a full blown talk.
If it was not covered in your Iris 101 talk, you could do one on just
the cultivation of iris, where to plant, how to plant, how to care for,
how to dig and divide, and when these activities should occur.
Certainly, your location does have its own special problems that need to
be overcome, and many may think that growing iris in your climate is not
really possible.

Thank you for responding, Griff.
Unfortunately, no. I've grown hundreds of rebloomers, including many
"cold-climate" rebloomers, but in the past 12 yrs, I've only had six
rebloom (What Again, Low Ho Silver, Faux Pas, Champagne Elegance, Sugar
Blues, Lilting). Of those six, only one has rebloomed more than once
(two separate years - that was Lilting), and two died shortly after the
one time they did rebloom (Faux Pas and Champagne Elegance).
I have mentioned rebloomers in my "Irises 101" talks, but I have spoken
of them primarily in terms of potential future developments in irises,
not as something currently widely available to us here in northern MN.
