This year was an exceptionally good year for iris in my garden. They started to bloom at the end of April, then continued all through summer. The rebloomers carried the season right up til a few days before Hallowe'en, when a mild frost hit.
I had to move quite a few iris this year, and to see at least 1 iris blooming each day kept me going. :)
With Forever Blue especially, I pull a piece off the back of an older, almost ever blooming clump, then plant it elsewhere. Those new rhizomes are the ones that eventually rebloom, sometimes the very next year. Needless to say, I have many clumps of FB. I did the same w Blueberry Tart and that's the clump that's been reblooming for the past 2 years.
I even had 2 siberians rebloom this year - Butter n Sugar and Dreaming Yellow.

SDB Autumn Jester also usually reblooms in Sept, altho it took this year off. Probably needs to be moved, since it's been in that spot since 2001. SDB Blueberry Tart has rebloomed in Sept for the last 2 years. This year, SDB Wizard of Hope rebloomed here for the first time, as did MDB Velvet Toy. We did have an extra long fall before frost hit. All my rebloomers are Chuck Chapman intros, aside from Velvet Toy.El, I've been growing Forever Blue and Velvet Toy for a number of years, but neither has rebloomed for me yet (at least not that I've noticed). Blueberry Tart and Wizard of Hope are both new to my garden this year, so I am very much looking forward to seeing how they do here. Autumn Jester is one I'll have to try to acquire. I would LOVE to have more irises in my beds that will occasionally provide rebloom. It is so wonderful to see little iris faces later in the season.
