Iris need some nitrogen contrary to the experts who usually do not grow iris. When I have yellowing iris they are dieing, need a small amount of nitrogen or they need some iron (Ironite(R)). Iris need very little zinc and pecan trees need a lot of zinc. Ironite contains zinc and many other trace minerals. Why are you taking iris up so late in the year. Potting the iris is good advice. Healing them in outside is good advice. Storing them bare root in a cool place is good advice. They can be kept bare root in a proper place with proper care for months. Theymay not live the next year, but they will usually live. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE IRIS
