Today, I went to a plant exhibition and sale hosted by the Master
Gardeners of Marion County, Florida. This event was held in Ocala. Among
the various plants for sale were some Irises that have green and white
variegated leaves. These were potted, well established plants that were
the increase off a clump that it turns out is growing about three miles
from where I live.
These people are not affiliated with AIS, or any other plant society,
(although the individual members can belong to any plant society they
wish), so they did not know exactly what type of Iris this is. However, it
has been and still is being passed around through various gardening
circles.
Well, I ended up with two pots for a dollar. Each pot contains a
plant with three or four fans. It is going to be interesting to see how
this turns out. I will provide updates as needed. If I can get it to
bloom, then I will have to try to figure out what type of Iris this is...
