JA=Japanese, SP=Spuria, TB=Tall Bearded and SDB=Standard Dwarf Bearded.
There are others suchs as IB=Intermediate Bearded, MTB=Minature Tall
Bearded, MDB=Miniture Dwarf Bearded, AR=Aril, AB=Arilbred. Others also
but I don't want to overwhelm you just yet.

Usually the "rule of thumb" is to have your iris planted at least 6
weeks before a hard frost to get the plants established. So I would say
wait till next year to do your dividing.

These sound like great ideas for controlling the Cucumber beetles.
