It is reassuring to learn that iris know which way is up, even *down
under*, as  all the cultivars I recognize among the ones you name, such as
Black Dragon, Chico Maid, Gold Galore, Mulled Wine, and Fall Fiesta, tend
to be end of season bloomers here, also. I expect to see them around the
second week of June. That bit about the 100+ temperatures sounds familiar,
too, though I don't recall you expressing concern about three weeks
previously over the danger of freezing temperatures spoiling the bloom as
is often the case here.

Not too bad here yet. It was sunny and in the low 40's today. The snow is
still up in the mountains and not on the doorstep.
