REF:

There will eventually be:
Index--listing name, date of Registration ( you then will know which R&I has the complete write-up--refer to a book which one should have already)
Listing---complete with all information on all Iris known to date ( can you imagine how bbbiiiggg that book will be?)
Electronic--which will contain all Iris known to date ( and hopefully can be up-dated each year with new registrations)

In the meantime, the 1998 R&I has to be completed, the 1999 R&I has to be completed ( or 1999 will appear in the 1990-1999 R&I)
Since there are errors in some of the early R&I's, they are being looked at with the thought of maybe correcting some of the errors?????

Even though there will be the Electronic R&I, there will still be the need for the printed copy--and there was a lengthy discussion about the 'Index"-- and making it so that it would not cost too much and one would be able to use the R&I's that you already have-
Having the 'Index" available at the meeting next year is just a trial run to see how it works and is the idea of it being a 'master list to tell you where to look up specifics' --it will have only up through 1998 and there will have to be an up-dated version with the 1999 registrations added the next year.
AIS is trying to make available to everyone a reference which will satisfy the needs of everyone--so you will be able to choose the one you want!!!!
