Don't know if I can help any with the rot. When I was in Kansas the humidity
was often conducive to rot, especially in the spring when we would have much
rain. You said you had tried bleach treatment, but did not say if you had
scraped the rot away first. This is important! Use an old spoon and dig out
all the rot, the rotted leaves, etc. and DISCARD where it will not contaminate
any other iris. Be very careful about that. Then pour bleach on the
uncovered rhizomes, AND on the surrounding ground. This always worked for me,
and I never had it "travel" through my bed like some have had happen. For
what it's worth--hope it helps.
Pat in CO where we had more snow today, but all melted in this "banana belt"
by this afternoon.
