Thank you Rusty for responding to these comments in such a nice way! I have
liked THORNBIRD very much, from the first time that I saw it. I love irises
with unusual colors, ones that you can look at for a long time just trying to
figure out what colors they are, seeing the layers of colors, the combinations
occurring in a single flower. I have planted a new bed this year based on
THORNBIRD, putting around it irises whose colors I hope will provide interesting
complements and contrasts to THORNBIRD. I can hardly wait to see the effects of
that planting. I can envision some day doing an English Box design with a theme
of THORNBIRD and its companion plantings, that is if that would be an eligible
theme for an English Box.
