Chris replies:
Don't worry about this at all! Your iris will be just fine. This same leaves
on the iris beds scenario happens here evey year and I have no problems.
Sometimes I don't get around to clearing off the leaves for a month or
two... sometimes not until spring!  Never any problem because of this.
